Monument Peak ridge
Monument Peak is a rather easy county highpoint with a road to the top. Most passenger cars can make it as the dirt road is smooth, wide and not steep at all. The views are expansive but not that exciting.
From Highway 6 south of Soldier Summit, take Highway 96 to Scofield Lake and beyond. Turn right onto Highway 264 and drive uphill until the pass and county line. Look left for a dirt road heading south. Follow this road (using the map) about 8 miles until you are on top. The final spur road up the south slope can be rutted but walking will only take 10 minutes or so.
