This is a great easy hike up a peak in Park City. It has a trail to the summit and views most of the way. Views from the summit give a good overview of the Park City area. The hike starts from a city park so that's another bonus. There is no shade on this trip.
Start up the unsigned trail on the south-east side of the very large parking area . After a switchback, the trail heads south until hitting a saddle where a road in encountered. Take a left and hike up the road. This road goes up to the summit wrapping around the north side. Save some distance by looking for one of several trails that cut left off the road and go directly to the top.

The quickest way from the freeways is to take the Highway 248 exit off I-40 and go west toward Park City. You'll pass PC Hill on your right. Keep an eye out for a road to the right just before a school (see map). There is a sign saying road closes after dark.

Novara Randonee Touring Bike

Novara Randonee Touring Bike

Touring wine country, rolling down the coast or cruising past endless fields of corn, our Novara Randonee® is built for comfort over the long haul. Load it up! Classic touring frame accommodates fore and aft racks and fenders—rear rack provided (front rack and fenders sold separately). Chromoly frame is double butted for added strength under heavy loads; tubes are thick at the ends, narrowing once toward the center. Long wheelbase and low center of gravity optimize stability and handling under heavy loads and high speeds. Shimano touring gruppo provides smooth shifting through a gear range designed to get bike, rider and equipment up and over mountain passes. Lightweight Mavic A319S rims and puncture-resistant Vittoria Randonneur tires have the durability needed to log long miles. Keep the cadence you want—27 speeds let you adjust for the smallest changes in wind and terrain. Shimano brake levers and Tektro brakes provide reliable stopping power; cantilever configuration allows ample room for fenders front and back. Fizik Nisene saddle is anatomically contoured and padded for support and comfort during long days on the road. No fancy shoes required—platform pedals with toe clips accommodate many casual shoes (but we suggest supportive cycling shoes for long rides). And just to make sure we thought of your every need, Randonee includes a spare spoke mounted on a seatstay. Remember, REI also sells all the accessories—ultralight tents, sleeping bags, stoves— you require for an epic cycling adventure. Specs are subject to change.
