These private timberlands require an expensive permit. In 2016 it was Hancock Forest Management. Ownership and rules often change, inquire on their website.
The Divide is a high coveted prominent highpoint in the restricted Kapowsin Tree Farm. (Nearly 1,500 feet of prominence) It is identifiable from the South Puget Sound area and from the majority of highpoints in SW Pierce County. The ridge divides the Puyallup River Valley from the Mashel River Valley. Logging roads will take you up the south side to the summit. The steep North face was logged in 2016. The highest point is a short walk between the two summit roads.
