Eagle Mountain ATV road Lake Mountains, Eagle Peak Flat Top Mountain from Eagle Homes in Eagle Mountain Eagle Mountain Peak
Eagle Mountain Peak is an unofficial name for a small blob on the west side of the Lake Mountains near the City of Eagle Mountain. It makes for an excellent late winter hike to a mountain top the kids will think is as good as any higher peak. With snow on all the distant peaks, the views are pretty good for such little effort.

Eagle Mountain Utah Map
Hike up the valley along the ATV trail (if you’re not on it at first that’s ok). The going is very easy for the first half until you reach the base of the mountain. The trail goes NE a bit to a saddle between Eagle Mountain Peak and the larger mass of the Lake Mountains. From the pass a motorcycle trail climbs its way to the summit. My route was more direct as I left the ATV trail and headed straight up for the summit ridge. However you go, the slopes are brush free and you’re never too far from the car.
Take highway 73 west out of Lehi to the crossroads with Highway 68. About a mile further west on 73, turn left on 800 West. Follow this south then west into Eagle Mountain. The road now becomes “Pony Express Parkway”. Go all the way through town until you cross over signed “Unity Pass” and you’re looking south into the Cedar Valley. Shortly after the pass is a left turn lane to get onto Lake Mountain Road (Gravel). Follow Lake Mountain Road past ranches and even a paved section of new homes for 5.8 miles to the left turn up into the canyon. At least two dirt roads go that direction merging at the canyon entrance. Park where shown on the map. It may even be possible to drive the ATV trail a distance with 4WD.
