I would like to have named this summit Tucker Benchmark but Tucker has 3 summits at the same elevation. I was only able to find access without trespassing to one of the summits, one I believe to be the highest. The one with the benchmark is closest to highway 6 so I believe that is why it was surveyed. This summit is a good mile from the central summit and its another half mile to the benchmarked summit. I should also stress that most of this route is on private land as well but was not posted at the time I drove it in (November 2009). It appears section 14 next to the highway is State Trust Land but it is the only public land on the entire mountain. This explains why it wasn't posted next to the highway. High clearance is necessary to reach the summit beyond the future home site.
Drive east from Soldier Summit on highway 6 turning west onto highway 96 (toward Scofield Reservoir and state park). In section 14, before the highway turns south, a gated road cuts to the right. Open/close gate and proceed up the road following along on the map as you go. At a Y, turn right soon passing what looks like a future home location. The road turns right a bit more, gets rougher, then traverses NW through scrub brush to the ridge top. At the top, left is a gate accessing the road to the other summits. Go right, soon hitting a old falling apart gate. Go through, and up the steep hill to intersect a ridge road just before the highpoint. Turn right on it and go up until you are just below the top. Not visible at first but there is a road in the scrub brush to the very top. The road is to the right just as you hit the aspen stand on the left side of the road.
The other roads in black I show on the map I drove hoping to find access to the other 2 summits. The locked gate looks like the only way from this side but one could walk, there wasn't any no trespassing sign.
