Flooded Forest Tour & Piranha Fishing

We went on a canoe trip through the narrow channels of the river and into the flooded forest over the banks of the river. While in the flooded forest we went fishing for piranha. While fishing, we occasionally tangled our fishing lines into the trees. While untangling one line, I was holding a branch that was full of small biting ants. The darn things were all over my hand stinking me. My hand went numb! The fish that were caught were gutted out in the main channel while we spotted river dolphins. The dolphins came fairly close to the boat but never close enough to eat the fish scraps. The fish were taken back to the lodge where the cook prepared them for dinner. Our guide caught more fish than the rest of us together. We were using chicken scraps for bait. Just put the chicken on a hook, drop the line in the water and when you feel a bite, you yank up on the pole hopefully catching the fish. We were mildly successful.
