This area of Riverside State Park offers loop hikes that include a forested canyon and scenic overlooks. The Deep Creek Canyon Interpretive Trail Loop is in the heart of the canyon. Several access points are possible but coming up from the bottom in my view is the most rewarding, and requires starting from the north at the Carlson Trailhead. Start by walking the Centennial Trail south to the mouth of Deep Canyon where a scenic bridge stands. Next, start exploring the canyon floor and gawking upwards at the walls, and the rock climbers if they are there. Next, the Interpretive Loop starts climbing and just gets more interesting as you get higher. Following the loop will eventually put you back onto the Centennial Trail. Many side trails exist for other explorations.
