The Narrows is one of the most famous trails in the world. This slot canyon hike is 16 miles one way if you do the full length. Only a limited number of permits are given per day so its difficult to arrange this at the convince of when you might be at the park. The solution is to plan a long day, hiking in from the bottom and getting out before dark. You don't need a permit to day hike up into the Narrows from the bottom (Temple of Sinawava parking area). There really is not a trail at all. It is a long river walk, you will get wet, you will need to be sure the water is not too high or any flash flood dangers are possible that day. Someday, I will return again to Zion to do this hike. These pictures are from the first half mile, well before it even starts to get good!
