Wahkiakum County Ferry

The Wahkiakum County Ferry is a unique and inexpensive addition for travel if heading between I-5 and the Pacific Ocean. The ferry is the last ferry on the lower Columbia River and has been run by Wahkiakum County since 1962. The ferry operates 365 days a year with a minimum of 18 runs per day. What makes it unique is that you can experience a bit of old charm as you are able to get out of your car and walk around the open deck during the crossing. Only around a dozen cars can load onto the ferry as it travels between Cathlamet, Washington and Westport, Oregon, taking roughly 10 minutes to cross.
Washington location of ferry terminal:
From the Town of Cathlamet, go south on Main Street (SR 409) and go straight, cross bridge between Cathlamet and Puget Island, continue on SR409 for approx. 4 miles to terminal of SR409.
