The Art Institute collection is one of the best in the United States, and often wins as best museum in the US. If you are into famous art, this is the place. Art lovers could spend a full day here. The museum is known for the greatest impressionist collection outside Paris and the contemporary masterpieces in the Modern Wing. Many galleries are devoted to world art of ancient Greece, Roman, Islamic, Indian, Chinese, Japan, Korea, Africa and the Americas. A few galleries like Arms & Armor, Renaissance Jewelry and Egyptian sculptures and mummies are also located in the museum.
