Of all the Bald Mountains in Utah, this is the most popular. Bald is probably the most climbed peak in the Uintas. With the signed trailhead at the Mirror Lake Highway highpoint, the easy access even tempts the tourists passing through. This is a great family hike, I hadn't seen so many young kids hiking a mountain trail in a long time. Because it is nearly 12,000 feet, it can be quite cool even on 90 degree days. Bring the kids warm cloths. Bald Mountain is a prominent peak, as it is the 99th most prominent peak in Utah just making the 100 list.

Route:
Drive east on Highway 150 out of Kamas Utah for 27ish miles just before Bald Mountain Pass or south out of Evanston Wyoming. Look for the sign saying Bald Mountain Trailhead. A short dirt road takes you to the parking lot with restrooms. There is a fee to park at any of the trailheads along the highway.
Start behind the trailhead sign where the trail immediately forks. Go right uphill. Follow the trail 2 miles to the summit. There are quite a few rocky step areas but my almost 4 year old was able to manage all of them and make it up almost to the summit. Just before the top is a rocky area that looks difficult to some people but once you try it you'll see it's just fine.
