The worlds first commercial bungee operation was located here at Kawarau Bridge. Just outside of Queenstown, this scenic bridge right off the main highway is worth stopping. Hopefully somebody will be jumping, the observation area is built to watch jumpers and hear their screams. It all started November 1988, Bungy pioneers AJ Hackett and Henry van Asch launched the World's first commercially operated Bungy Jumping company. Jump alone or along with friends at the same time, 43 meters to the river, river touches available.
