Huka Falls is the most visited and photographed natural attraction in New Zealand. The 11 meter high waterfall has 220,000 liters per second going over the falls. That is enough to fill one Olympic sized swimming pool in 11 seconds. There are several viewing platforms, multiple hiking tracks and several picnic areas. Just before the falls, the Waikato River narrows to just 15 meters funneling through a rocky gorge, forming some spectacularly powerful rapids. Nearby and connected by trails is Spa Thermal Park. There you can find free thermals along the river in a public park.
