In 1933, an L-4 ground house was started on a concrete foundation.
A patrol point at Lookout Mountain one mile east was also part of the lookout.

In 1934, in May, Willis Ward of Orient had just finished a lookout house. In September, panoramic images were taken from the roof at 15 feet above the ground.

In 1936, the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation placed a monument 23 feet from the center of the Swede Pass Lookout House lightning rod. They named the triangulation station as Ryan 1936. They described the location as a prominent point on the east side of Swede Pass accessed by the Swede Pass Lookout Trail.

In 1941, Fred Garringer may have been the lookout. The Coleville Examiner said he was the lookout stationed on Lookout mountain. It is unclear which Lookout Mountain.

In 1942, the site was utilize by the Aircraft Warning Service. Activated on March 7 with a sleeping quarters added.

In 1943, on July 1, the site was deactivated as an AWS site.

In 1945, on July 25, the lookout duo on Swede Pass reported a fire approximately 12 miles to the north. The Forest Service investigators concluded that the fire was caused by a Japanese balloon bomb attack.

In 1947 the Coast and Geodetic Survey visited the monument placed in 1936 and said the lookout house was atop a high mountain ridge that overlooks Roosevelt Lake, and a 4-foot wooden stand was over the mark. A gravel road led to the lookout.

In 1948, the lookout was Robert Wallace.
In 1950, the lookout was William Zimmer.
In 1951, the lookout was Wayne Francis.

In 1952, the lookout was removed.
