Take I-90 past North Bend to Exit 34. Go under the freeway, past the truck stops and in 0.6 mile turn right onto SE Middle Fork Road #56 (also known as Lake Dorothy Road). After a mile or so is a Y, take either as they merge back together. At 2.5 miles is the Mailbox Peak trailhead. Continue a few more miles to a large concrete bridge that crosses the Middle Fork. Park here on the side.

Green Mountain

Green Mountain is one of the least climbed mountains on the western Middle Fork ridgeline. It is located between Mount Tenerife and Moolock Mountain, which are not labeled on maps. Maps will show Green as the only named peak between Mt. Si and Bessemer Mountain. Most of the route is forested but views from the top make the trek worth the trip.
Distance: 4 miles
Summit Elevation: 4,824 feet
Elevation Gain: 4,000 feet
Access: Good Gravel
Route:
Washington Hikes
Access:
Just on the other side of the bridge is a small trail dropping down to the forest floor. This fun trail passes by some big Sitka spruce trees, before climbing up a minor ridge to the CCC Road. When you hit the road, the trail on the other side is about 50 feet to the right. Within a short distance, you arrive at the Green Mountain Road, now a rocky trail. The Green Mountain road-trail climbs switchbacking up the side of the destination. At 3000 feet, the road splits, go right to a spot known as the Last Chance Promontory. This location has been used for years to access these views of the Middle Fork Snoqualmie. Continue past the promontory a few drainages. After a large somewhat open and rocky crossing, just past the rocky cliffs, take the east ridge up open forests. When the forest gets noticeably steeper, not far after entering the old growth, veer to the right of the ridge to avoid cliffs. Continue up staying to the right of the cliff band until you enter a large basin where a saddle above becomes apparent. Climb up to the saddle, then up the north ridge of Green Mountain to the summit. (One could also climb the SE ridge from the promontory but there is some brush and steeper parts).
