Valley of the Gods

If you like sandstone buttes, mesas and monuments, Valley of the Gods is a easy side trip when traveling through SE Utah. The 16 mile dirt road is well graded so any vehicle can make the loop. Although just 30 miles from the more famous Monument Valley, Valley of the Gods is much less visited and being BLM lands, you can camp and hike without restrictions. Some of the monument names include Balanced Rock, Battleship Rock, Castle Butte, Franklin Butte, Pyramid Peak, Rooster Butte, Setting Hen Rock, Seven Sailors Rock, Rudolph and Santa Claus, De Gaulle and His Troops, and Lady in the Bathtub.
