Touted as Australia's third largest city Brisbane is the capital of the Queensland and this region is one of the fastest growing regions in Australia. Many wonder what the attraction is to this city over the others and perhaps the answer lies in the way in which the city has been designed around the lifestyle of the people that live here.

Brisbane is a softer city. A place with a vibrant city filled with towering office buildings and historic sandstone buildings as well. The city pays tribute to its heritage and finds a way to incorporate both the old and the new for a unique look and feel. It sits on the river and has many trees which also is unique for a city of this magnitude. Filled with not only offices but parks and cafes, it is a very diverse city that truly holds something for everyone.

The wonderful weather and incredible surroundings lend themselves to making Brisbane the perfect tourist location as the outlying areas such as the Gold Coast and Tropical North Queensland are also growing in popularity as well. Many people come to Brisbane and then travel outside of the city to take in some of these other incredible areas.

Brisbane is a melting pot of cultures and this adds a unique flavor the music, artwork, and foods of the region. It also makes it a wonderful area for tourists from all over the world to visit because they feel at home no matter where they come from and the Aussie culture is extremely laid back and all in the region greet tourists with open arms. It is a friendly, laid back region in which just about everyone feels at home. The South Bank Parklands region is a beautiful region and offers a beach, some small local shops, gardens, and lagoons. Many love this local retreat as it provides you with the natural surroundings you may need to unwind a bit from the heart of the city.

Because the weather is so moderate and delightful you don't have to worry about picking a bad time to visit. Most tourists do visit during the winter time. That would be the months of June through August. It is a busy time for the city with all of the Christmas and Easter stuff going on during the summer months. If you want to get right in the middle of the hustle and bustle then one of these times will be perfect. For a time that is less filled with tourists try going during May or October.
