Driving Buckhorn Wash you'd think you were in a national park. Recently, it has been considered for National Monument status. For now, access is on a nice county gravel road that any car can drive if the weather is good. Driving the wash is a nice alternative to get between Price and Green River, just plan several more hours. As the pictures show, there are huge rock walls, plenty of camping sites, pictographs and even a dinosaur track. The climax is probably the crossing of the San Rafael River where there is a BLM campground, a historic bridge and towering mountains in all directions.
