Westcrest Park - West Seattle

Puget Sound Parks
Westcrest Park was developed out of property that belonged to the water department. The West Seattle Reservoir is here, buried under the ground. My kids found it fascinating that the lake showing on the GPS when we arrived was missing. At the highpoint near the reservoir, a viewing area looks to the north were a view of the city is possible, but overgrowing. The main attraction bringing people to Westcrest Park is the off-leash dog park. With 4 acres of open space for dogs, people come from all around West Seattle. For humans, there are several acres where nice hiking trails have been built. At least two are named and well signed, the Douglas-Fir Trail and the West Duwamish Greenbelt Trail. These would be great for introducing trails to young kids.
