Northern California Trip
This was our third vacation we have done to the Bay Area over the past few years. Rachelle has 3 days of work but we enjoy the weekend before and the extended weekend after. Other trips we went to Yosemite, Tahoe, and LA during the trip....this time we would explore northern California.
Taking off in the plane.
Arriving in Oakland, we saw the temple from the freeway, grabbed some food and had a picnic on the grounds.
We missed Fishermans Warf on the other trips so we strolled down there.
On Knob Hill, near our hotel.
Visit to Coit Tower.
Town from Coit Tower.
Visit to Sausalito, just over the Golden Gate Bridge.
In town is Mt. Davidson, the San Francisco County Highpoint, and film location of a Clint Eastwood movie.
Hiking down to Point Reyes Lighthouse.
Chinatown visit to buy some fleece jackets....it was cold.
Rachelle working now so took the kids south up to Copernicus Peak. Went up a difficult way to avoid parking at the No Tresspassing signs.
Then we did Loma Prieta, another prominance peak that I had to tresspass to summit.
Emeryville Pier.
Lake in Tilden Regional Park near Berkeley....hate driving through a town of miserable people who hate everyone but their new god Obama.
Sleeping Mckinley.
We drove North to do some mountains and camp. The smoke from the fires was awful and you couldn't see more than one mile. We did a miserable hike up Snow Mountain in the stuff, it was like we smoked a pack of cigarettes. We decided to get away by going to the coast.
Bridge in Redding.
Playing with water.
City Park in Redding.
