Le Fevre Overlook
Burning slash piles near Jacob Lake. This is the Kaibab Plateau, a nice forest.
House Rock viewpoint. Only minutes from the forest going east, you hit this.
View north into Utah from the shelter.
It wasn't until I hit "cliff dwellers" that I realized....I've been here before. Around 9 years ago I drove this road with my dad and brother on our way to Mexico. We had stopped at these rocks. I had thought they were in Texas for some reason...not Arizona.

Glen Canyon Dam
Horseshoe Bend
Just before sunset, we drove by a trailhead that said Horseshoe Bend. I pulled in to check the distance given the time we had. Only 3/4 mile! Woke the kids and carried them there. Above is Mav walking back, up some slickrock steps.

The start of the Grand Canyon
Below, the entrance to Lees Ferry, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. This was the launch point for the 8-12 day rafting trips through the Grand Canyon.
Beter than any playground, Maverick ran around these rocks for a long time, screaming when I put him back in the car.
Lake Powell
These 2 pictures below are of Paria, where many movies and TV shows have been filmed.
This was Moqui Cave, an interesting cave and private museum.
