Zion National Park Hiking
We were all packed and ready for 2 days of sightseeing in Canyonlands National Park when a storm dumped 4 inches in the park. We changed our plans to Zion. Because of Thanksgiving weekend, the place was packed on Saturday.
Our first hike was a short walk to Weeping Rock.

Hiking the Emerald Pools Trail
In the morning we did the Riverside Walk Trail. This trail ends at "The Narrows", a hike in the stream for several miles, eventually reaching canyons shown in this picture below I took off the internet.
Of course, because we did not know we were coming here, I did not pack my insulated hip waiters and water boots. So, with 30 degree temps outside and freezing water temps, I just ignored the cold and walked through the water. For Rachelle, I had her put on her socks, step into garbage bags and then into her boots. Unfortunately, the bags only came up to her knees.
The river was quite high and about 20 minutes into the adventure, in the narrow area in the pic above, the water went over one of Rachelles bags and into her foot. Game over.....Rachelle don't do cold feet.
