Rachelle was at a meeting in Orlando Florida so we (kids and I) spent 4 days traveling in Idaho on the way to Seattle where we would meet up and visit family.
Idaho peaks trip 2007
Left the usual route at Mountain Home and headed into the mountains north.
Anderson Ranch Reservoir
Taking a break at Evens Creek Campground
The views got better.
Trinity Mtn. Lookout is visible on top. The road was gated from here and required a hike.
Late evening sun on the lookout.
Trinity bathroom
Views south from lookout.
Views east with shadow of Trinity in the distance.
Sun setting while hiking back to truck. It was getting cold quick.
We set up camp in the dark in this campground around 8000 feet. It was really cold that night, probably 25 degrees. Mckinley was warm wrapped in 5 blankets.
Picture above, views north in the morning looked great. Below is looking back at Trinity and the pass we drove over.
Next we drove up Pilot Peak near Idaho City.
Mav enjoying a short break outside the car.
Building on top.
Views North/east
Views West.
Our next location was Hawley Mountain Lookout
The lookout and a prescribed burn in the distance.
View west
Mav walking up to the lookout.
Some hunters were also on top...they took my picture.
Then we drove to Bogus Basin Ski Area
This is Shafer Butte but we did not get up to the top.
Mav enjoying the sunset from the chair on the left.
