Lookout Mountain Lookout
This trip pushed my limits on what I should do while carring Maverick. The trip met all the requirements of an excellent early season scramble....with the added 30 lbs on my back and extra precautions necessary taking a toddler into the backcountry solo. Should someone notify CPS?
First break during
the 32 switchbacks.
You can see the lookout is up at the top. This is the final bit I had to climb. I first had to drop down below the avalanch path and climb up in the trees. The snow was soft in places and the snowshoing was tough. Dozer gave up about halfway up.
Lunch. Mav was sure surprised to wake up finding himself on this bed with a 360 degree view of mountains.
