Your online resource for hiking, climbing and travel
You need to just get out there and go. I've heard all the excuses, you don't know where to go, you don't have the right gear, you don't know what to pack. I've made this website to help get you out there as well as help those of you looking for that next level of adventure.
Then there is the excuse that you stopped getting out once you had kids. I was always told my activities would change once I got married and especially once kids came along. This is just false. It takes a bit more planning and effort but it's very doable and worth the extra effort. Within this website, you should find the materials needed to make adventures possible whether you are single, married or married with kids.
Information is always subjective so I give this information and advice based on my life experiences. I have strong opinions and motivation on these topics. Always beware who you get advise from without knowing their background.

Wonderland with a Maverick
After much planning and preparing, Bob and I left for the airport early this morning. While checking in our bags, we learned our plane was being delayed because of bad weather (El Nino) in L.A. The plane finally got to L.A. after circling the airport 4 times. We hurried as fast as possible to the international terminals but were 5 minutes late.
Waiting at the trailhead, I wondered where the heck Dave and Dozer are. They were right behind me a few miles back and it’s been over an hour waiting now. Maybe they missed the turnoff for the parking lot and continued on the trail the wrong way. I thought I saw Dave walk by; could he have not looked to his right and noticed the bridge and parking lot? Turns out, that’s exactly what happened.
The Wonderland Trail is one of the most spectacular and difficult trails in the U.S. as it circumnavigates Mt. Rainier. The trail is 94 miles long with a massive amount of elevation climbing. I would be doing the hardest section, 30 miles with 10,385 feet of elevation gain, all with my son and our overnight gear for 3 days on my back.

This was the final 35 miles left to finish the loop for me so when a friend informed me he was doing the circuit the first week in October, I jumped on his trip. The only catch....I needed to bring Maverick. He was 1 year and 2 days old weighing 23 pounds. So much for ultralight hiking, I had very little gear for myself...mostly stuff to keep Maverick happy.
